How Duplicate Detection Works

Kled automatically prevents the same file from being uploaded twice. This protects you from wasting bandwidth and quota on content that is already in the system.

Two Layers of Detection

  1. Local check — When you select files, Kled checks if identical files are already in your upload queue
  2. Server check — Before uploading, Kled verifies with the server that the file has not been previously uploaded

What Happens When a Duplicate Is Found

  • A toast notification appears: "Duplicates Skipped" or "X files already in queue were skipped"
  • The item appears in your queue with "Duplicate upload" in red text
  • There is no retry option for duplicates (the file already exists on the server)
  • You can remove the item from the queue using the X button

Why There Is No Retry for Duplicates

Unlike network errors, a duplicate is not a temporary problem. The file is already successfully stored on the server from your original upload. Re-uploading it would not result in additional earnings since the content already exists.

Avoiding Duplicate Issues

  • Do not re-select files you have already uploaded
  • If you see "Duplicate upload" messages, your original upload was successful
